have you ever set eyes on them
the animals
not in their natural get-up
but even more extravagant
than us humans
aiming to please
or to camouflage
their little defects
to attract attention
not with what nature
bestowed on them
but with creations of
beautiful imaginings
prettier and more provocative
than the archetypical
flower
that transcends
language and frontiers
and that no doubt also blossoms
in your back garden
a feast for the eye
fashion for animals
it would bring joy to their hearts
make winds turn
defrost opinions
a giant rain worm with a tie
the missus on his arm
never shown on tv
let alone on the streets of olden days
a hat to top it off
beige or red
and lacquered shoes
to transform time
all along the streets
oh how beautiful it can be
